(John had a school project to plan, shop for, prepare, serve and clean up after a family meal. This is his report on the experience...)
I once made a meal. The meal was lunch. First, for getting it ready, I went to the store with my Mom and I Picked out really good apples, pears and grapes. I also picked an acorn squash. Going to the store was my least favorite part because it took so long.
My favorite part of preparing the meal was flipping over the sandwiches in the pan. When the meal was finished, we ate. When I ate the food, my favorite part was the sandwiches. My second favorite part was the fruit. My least favorite was the acorn squash, but I still did sort of like it.
After we ate we cleaned up.
I liked cleaning up because I got to rinse off the dishes and silverware and put them in the dishwasher.
This meal was more work then I expected, but it was easier to do than I expected.

Light Bulb
A light bulb from the attic.
This was a light bulb that when my mom was in the attic she accidentally bumped it. And, that was all that was left of it. I like it because of something about the way it looks but I don't know what.
It looks cool.
I like being able to see inside things.
I didn't know that that was what was inside a lightbulb.
The wires are for completing the circuit. I'm not sure that those are the parts that light up because it wasn't curved like a spring.
I think the filament was the wiring inside the hollow glass tube that stuck up from the bottom and ended about half-way through the light bulb.
